From the moment I began my studies, I knew I wanted to take part in the Erasmus+ programme. I was certain that my destination would be Italy \u2013 a country I have always felt deeply connected to. For years, I have been fascinated by Italian culture, cuisine, and language, and every time I visited another Italian city, I felt that there was something truly special about this country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, I never imagined that my Erasmus destination would turn out to be Sardinia. I found it completely by accident \u2013 while browsing through the list of partner universities, I came across Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Sassari and decided to check where it was located. I typed \u201cSardinia\u201d into the search engine, and the first thing that appeared was: \u201cSardinia \u2013 the most beautiful beaches in Europe.\u201d That was the moment I knew \u2013 an instant decision that convinced me this was the place where I wanted to spend half a year of my life through Erasmus+.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the summer semester of the 2024\/2025 academic year, this dream came true \u2013 I spent my exchange semester on the Italian island of Sardinia, in the city of Sassari. Although the beginning wasn\u2019t easy \u2013 the paperwork, the stress, and being far from home \u2013 I quickly realised that it was the best decision I had ever made. Erasmus opened me up to the world, to people, and, most importantly, to myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Sardinia, I met wonderful people from all over the world \u2013 from Turkey, Greece, Spain, France, and Portugal \u2013 and together we created a true international family. The shared trips, conversations, sunrises and sunsets, laughter and tears made me return to Poland as a new person, more confident, courageous, and independent. Erasmus taught me that it\u2019s worth stepping outside your comfort zone, overcoming language barriers, and trusting yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, at the beginning there\u2019s a bit of bureaucracy and paperwork, but all of it is worth it for the emotions, memories, and experiences that will stay with you for a lifetime. My advice to all students: don\u2019t be afraid, stay open-minded, and give yourself the chance to live this adventure. It\u2019s something you will never forget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t be afraid. Take the step. Take the risk. Pack your suitcase and go. Because Erasmus is not just a trip \u2013 it\u2019s an experience that stays with you forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
