Guest lectures as part of the Erasmus+ KA171 Program at the Institute of Political Science UKSW

From 3 to 7 March 2025, the Institute of Political Science and Administration at UKSW had the honor of hosting Professor Andrea Mazelliu and Professor Hektor Ruci from the University of New York in Tirana (Albania) as part of the Erasmus+ KA171 programme.

The guests met with the Director of the Institute, Professor Anna Skolimowska,PhD and the Erasmus+ Programme Coordinator, Piotr Sieniawski,PhD to discuss current academic cooperation and plan for future collaboration.

During their visit, the professors delivered lectures to students, focusing on key issues related to European integration and migration policy.

Titles of Professor Hektor Ruci’s lectures:

  • The Judicial Reforms in Albania as a Necessity on the Path to EU Integration
  • Prospects for the Rule of Law in Albania and Other Western Balkans Accession Countries: The Political and Administrative Process of Aligning Domestic Legislation with EU Standards

Titles of Professor Andrea Mazelliu’s lectures:

  • Management of the Migration Crisis in the EU and the Impact of the Italian-Albanian Agreement
  • The EU Enlargement Synopsis: Western Balkans and Eastern Neighbourhood Countries Towards the Accession Process

The lectures provided students with valuable insights into current political and social challenges related to the European integration process and migration management within the European Union. Students actively participated in the discussions, asked numerous questions, and engaged in thoughtful, substantive conversations.
