Between May 19 and 23, 2025, Prof. Piotr Ceryngier PhD from the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Sciences at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw, undertook a teaching visit to the Faculty of Biology at Yerevan State University in Armenia as part of the Erasmus+ KA171 – Staff Mobility for Teaching Programme.
During his stay, Professor Ceryngier onducted a series of lectures in English, focusing on biological diversity in Poland and the Caucasus region, the impact of invasive species on local ecosystems, and the effects of global environmental changes on biodiversity. The lectures were addressed to both students and academic staff of the host university and were met with great interest and engagement from the participants.
The visit also served as an opportunity to exchange teaching experiences and discuss potential joint research projects in the fields of nature conservation and biodiversity monitoring. As a result of working meetings with staff from the Faculty of Biology in Yerevan, initial agreements were made concerning further scientific collaboration, including the preparation of joint publications and applications for international research grants.
Prof. Ceryngier’s mobility contributed to strengthening the relationship between the partner institutions and enriched the educational offerings of both universities by introducing new international perspectives.
