The first EcoAct project newsletter is now available!

Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw, as the coordinator of the EcoAct project, is pleased to announce the publication of the project’s first newsletter. EcoAct is an initiative aimed at strengthening environmental and climate awareness through innovative virtual exchanges between higher education institutions in Europe and East Africa.

The latest issue of the newsletter presents, among other things:

  • Completion of Work Package 2 (WP2 – Needs Analysis): A literature review, surveys conducted among more than 300 students, and interviews with over 30 academic staff members have made it possible to identify key priorities, competencies, and challenges in environmental and climate education. These findings form the foundation of the EcoAct Virtual Exchange (VE) programme and serve as the basis for developing the syllabus and educational materials.
  • Progress in Work Package 3 (WP3): The first in-person transnational workshop was held on 8–10 July 2025 in Warsaw at UKSW. Partners from Africa and Europe worked together to develop the structure of the VE programme, the topics of its modules, and a plan for the next steps related to creating the syllabus and teaching materials.

In the coming months, the project consortium will focus on finalising and validating the syllabus, developing 10 educational modules, creating the VE environment on the MS Teams platform, and preparing the programme for integration into the curricula of partner universities.

We encourage you to read the full newsletter, which presents the achievements of the EcoAct project and the role of UKSW as coordinator in advancing innovative, international climate education.ct i rolę UKSW jako koordynatora w rozwijaniu innowacyjnej, międzynarodowej edukacji klimatycznej.
