Prof. Eman Khalifa Visits the Faculty of Historical Sciences at UKSW Under the Erasmus+ KA171 Programme

Between 17 and 21 November 2025, the Faculty of Historical Sciences at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw hosted Prof. Eman Khalifa from the Faculty of Archaeology at Cairo University (Egypt). Her visit was held within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 programme and constituted an important step in strengthening academic cooperation between UKSW and Cairo University.

During a series of lectures, Prof. Khalifa presented issues related to the origins of pottery worldwide, introducing participants to key methods of ceramic analysis and highlighting the importance of studying the material culture of past societies. Subsequent presentations focused on the development of pottery in ancient Egypt, covering both the earliest stages of its production and the transformations it underwent throughout successive historical periods. These lectures offered participants a deeper understanding of the role of ceramics as one of the fundamental sources in archaeological research.

The lectures, conducted  in English, attracted considerable interest from both students and academic staff. Participants actively engaged in discussions and asked numerous questions, creating a dynamic space for the exchange of knowledge and scholarly experience. Prof. Khalifa expressed her appreciation for the high level of engagement and preparedness demonstrated by the students, emphasising the inspiring nature of the academic interactions throughout her stay.

The visit of Prof. Khalifa was a valuable enhancement to the Faculty’s teaching offer and a significant step in strengthening international partnership relations within the Erasmus+ KA171 programme.
