Researchers from the Faculty of Education of UKSW Participate in an Erasmus+ Project in Italy

Professor Renata Nowakowska-Siuta, PhD,  Vice-Dean for Education at the Faculty of Education of UKSW and Head of the Department of History of Education and Comparative Pedagogy, together with PhD Ewa Kulawska, Assistant Professor in the Department of Preschool and Early Childhood Education, delivered a series of lectures for students enrolled in education programmes at Università di Firenze Scuola di Studi Umanistici e Della Formazione Dipartimento Forlilpsi from 11 to 15 May this year as part of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching programme. As part of the project, the representatives of UKSW were also invited to participate in the recurring academic event entitled Piu voci – the readings for peace, devoted on this occasion to the theme “Women and War.”

The visit provided an excellent opportunity to establish cooperation in the fields of intercultural research and the history of education, present the latest projects carried out by the Faculty of Education at UKSW, participate in a series of academic meetings and discussions, and become acquainted with innovative approaches to student education at the University of Florence, the fifth most prominent public university in Italy. Like other Erasmus+ mobility activities undertaken by academic staff and administrative personnel of the Faculty of Education, the visit constituted an important element of the Faculty’s strategy for the internationalisation of research and the development of cooperation between higher education institutions.
