UI’s GreenMetric ranking examines the university’s involvement in environmental issues (including infrastructure, transportation, water and electricity consumption, waste management, climate and environmental care). Important issue to the organizer is the wealth of educational offer and research activities undertaken in the area of sustainable development.

The UI GreenMetric ranking has been organized since 2010 by the University of Indonesia. In the 2023 edition, 1183 universities from around the world participated. Compared to the 2022 edition, the number of participants increased by 133 universities. Also, the number of universities from Poland increased from 11 in 2022 to 15 in 2023. The UI GreenMetric ranking is one of the most important and prestigious university rankings in terms of sustainability and environmental protection in the world.
